Police in Jordan have identified the man who opened fire on a group of tourists on Monday, killing a British man and injuring six other people. Nabeel Ahmed Issa Jaourah was arrested after the shooting in a Roman amphitheatre in the capital Amman. According to the Jordanian Interior Minister it was undoubtedly a terrorist attack, unless the gunman is found to be deranged. Jaourah, a 37 year old Jordanian national, is from Rusaifa, a hub for Muslim militants and the hometown of the ex-al-Qaida leader in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Twenty-two year old Ashley Blari, an Australian woman injured in the shooting spree has spoken of her ordeal: "We were walking up some stairs at a theatre and a man came up hehind us and started to shoot and all I can remember is one of my friends falling over and then a really nice man from a shop came and told us to hide in his store."
