An Italian nightclub bouncer found guilty of assaulting a customer has been ordered to buy him 10 pizzas in compensation.
A judge in Casalmaggiore ruled that the bouncer of the town's Tam Tam club used unnecessary violence in dealing with the punter.
The pair, who were not named, ended up fighting after the man tried to regain access to the club's main hall after closing time in September 2001.
The customer ended up in hospital in a state of shock and was diagnosed as suffering from minor injuries, Tgcom reports.
After a two-year legal battle, the judge settled the dispute by ordering the bouncer to buy 10 pizzas for the punter and to allow him free access to the club for a month.
The customer declared himself "very satisfied" and agreed to drop the case. He said he was looking forward to his free meals.
