| I'm guessing this would be the right fourm to post this in. The Nephillim are an interesting group of creatures aren't they? Half angel, half human, kings of the earth, that whole bag. I can't find a whole lot of information on them that I can sink my teeth into. Most of it's from religious fanatics or end of the world yuckos. So what's the lowdown on these "giants among men?" |

| the nephillim were half angel half man correct? So wouldnt that make them below the annunaki who created man. I can see where the connection would be made between the two but I doubt they're the same thing, the religious fourm is a good fourm for this thread simply because the nephillim were in the bible, enoch primarily. Now, from what I've been able to gather over the past 2 years of reading about these guys and the annunaki it seems to me, if we are to stick with the alien theory, that the two were possibly different species of aliens or perhaps to seperate factions of the same species, the annunaki being the prevalant one a.k.a the ones who didn't drown, the nephillim, for the most part were wiped out after the flood. Arguments? Please discuss |

U might want 2 search an author by the name of ANDREW COLLINS and in particular seek out a work entitled "FROM THE ASHES of ANGLES: THE FORBIDDEN LEGACY of a FALLEN RACE". Here's a little excerpt 4u 2 chew on:
"And after some days my son Methuselah, took a wife 4 his son Lamech, and she became pregnant by him and bore him a son. And his body was white as snow and red as a rose; the hair of his head as white as wool and his DEMDEMA (long curly hair) beautiful; and as 4 his eyes, when he opened them the whole house glowed like the sun ... And his father Lamech was afraid of him and fled and went 2 Methuselah his father and said 2 him: 'I have begotten a strange son. He is not like an [ordinary] human being, but he looks like the children of the angels of heaven 2 me, his form is different, and he is not like us ... It does not seem 2 me that he is of me ... but of angels."
These words form the opening lines 2 what must be 1 of the most astonishing yet chilling fragments of religious text ever written. They are the assertions of the ANTEDILUVIAN patriach Enoch as he describes the sheer distress and horror that accompanied the miraculous birth of a son 2 his grandson Lamech. The passage is taken from The Book of Noah, an ancient script of Hebrew origin appended 2 the more famous Book of Enoch, a pseudepigraphal [i.e falsely attributed] work, considered by scholars 2 have been put 2gether in stages during the 1st half of the 2nd century B.C.
The narrative begins just after the strange birth as Lamech starts voicing his suspicions concerning the suspected infidelity of his wife, here named as BATHENOSH for he says:
"Behold I thought then within my heart that conception was [due] to The WATCHERS and The HOLY ONES ... and 2 the NEPHILIM ... and my heart was troubled within me because of this child."
Turning 2 his obviously distraught wife, Lamech makes her swear by The Most High that she will tell him the truth and admit if she has had sex with anyone else. In reply she begs him to accept her word saying:
"O my lord remember our pleasure! I swear 2u by the Holy Great One, the king of the Heavens ... that this seed is yours and that [this] conception is from u. This fruit was planted by u ... and by no stranger or WATCHER or SON of HEAVEN."
It is clear that Lamech is accusing his wife of having sex not with angels in general, but with having had relations with a SPECIFIC RACE of divine beings known as 'those who watch' or 'those who are awake', which [when translated in2 Greek] is translated as 'WATCHERS'. These WATCHERS are featured mainly within the pages of pseudepigraphal and apocryphal works of Jewish origin, such as The Book of Enoch and The Book of Jubilees. They are called NEPHILIM [according 2 Jewish tradition] a Hebrew word meaning 'those who have fallen' or 'the fallen ones', which translates in2 Greek as 'GIANTS'- a monstrous race featured in the THEOGONY of the hellenic writer Hesiod (c. 907 BC).
Here's hoping that assists with setting u off in an appropriate direction !!!

"Scattered thruout the Pentateuch are enigmatic references 2 the existance of giants living in the bible lands long after the generations of Noah. These terrifying individuals almost invariably feature in wars waged against foreign raiders and the Isrealite peoples by indigenous Canaanite tribes; Canaan being the name given to Palestine, Western Syria and Lebanon in Old Testament times.
If we look @ the later chapters of Genesis, we will find references 2 Giants living in the age of the Prophet Abraham, a date usually fixed @ around 2,000 BC. Several verses deal with how CHEOLANDER, King of ancient Elam, a country placed in the highlands of south-west Iran, encounters no less than THREE tribes of Giants, who rise up against him and are defeated by his forces in the Land of Canaan. They are listed as 'the REPHAIM in Ashteroth Karnaim ... the ZUZIMS in Ham; and the EMIMS in Shaveh Kiriathaim'.
Later in the Book of Deuteronomy, which deals with the wanderings of the Jewish tribes, follwing the exodus out of Egypt @ the time of Moses, the text speaks of Canaan as 'a land of REPHAIM', or giants, where 'the REPHAIM dwelt therein aforetime'. Because of their reported great stature, in many translations of the Bible from the original Hebrew, the word 'GIANTS' is used instead of 'REPHAIM'. Deuteronomy also tells us that ' the Ammonites call them ZAMZUMMINS: a people great, and many and tall, as the ANAKIM.'
"AS TALL AS THE ANAKIM"?
Who then were the ANAKIM? And how might they relate 2 the WATHCERS and the NEPHILIM? Reaching 4 my weighty, leather-bound edition of Hitchcock's New & Complete Ananlysis of the Holy Bible, I turned 2 its edition of Cruden's Concordance - the complete listing of ALL names, terms and expressions found in the Bible. There are a number of further entries 4 the ANAKIM, the most important of which is found in the Book of NUMBERS:
"And there we saw the NEPHILIM, the sons of Anak, which come of the NEPHILIM: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." |

| I always wondered if the nephilim weren't the origin of certain myths, such as Zeus/Titans and other Greek mythology. To me there are many similarities. It would seem a demon's purpose on Earth would be to present themselves as Gods. Fight for territory and worshipers. |
