|
|
| |
ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?
THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
1. REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR:
Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin.
2. BECAUSE OF OUR SINS, WE DIE BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND PHYSICALLY, BUT GOD SENT HIS SON TO TAKE OUR PUNISHMENT AND GIVE US A CHANCE NOT TO HAVE TO GO TO HELL.
Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Ro 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Even if we lie one time, the punishment is hell, which is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already committed a sin which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the president can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die.
3. IF WE WILL ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS OUR LORD WITH OUR MOUTHS AND BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS THAT HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD, BY DOING THIS WE ARE RECEIVING HIM:
Ro 10:9,10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: {power: or, the right, or, privilege}
(KJV)
You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus and asking Him to forgive you for your sins and save you. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven if they do these things, but the bible says that there is only one way to heaven and that is through receiving what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.
Will you do that today? If you will, you can be 100% sure that you will go to heaven when you die.
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD FOR YOUR SINS? DO YOU ACCEPT WHAT HE DID FOR YOU TO PAY FOR YOUR SINS?
4. If you are willing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please pray this right now, from your heart to God,
"Dear LORD JESUS, I believe that YOU died on the Cross and Rose from the dead for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins, take me to heaven when I die. I now receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus holy name, Amen."
If you prayed that prayer from your heart to God, and meant it with all of your heart, you are now a child of God and will go to heaven when you die.
Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism. |

Great, we're all on our way to Heaven, but what does that mean?
What does it mean to be saved?
The truth is if I wanted to walk on streets of gold, and see walls of jasper, I can do that here on earth.
Going even further, if we are saved then the spirit of Christ resides in us already; What would be the point of making a jouney to Heaven, if Jesus is with us already?

Actually, the question should be, would you want to "hang-out" with anyone who "made-it" to heaven? |

That's a really good point.
I have had the misfortune to handle the bodies of some folks who went on to heaven, and I got to say I really didn't enjoy it.
The good news is they're in a much better place, and so am I - far away from them..... |

A really good point? I don't see the point. Is it asking "Would you want to hang out with a corpse?" Or, is it, "Would you want to hang-out in Heaven with someone?"
If your answer to the latter is "no," I feel sorry for you, but that's your choice, no doubt about it. |

Here is a couple of facts bro:
I am not dead, therefore I don't hang out with folks in Heaven.
The folks that are in Heaven are dead. Their spirit has left this world, but their physical body remains.
I don't care to hang out with corpses, Christian or otherwise.
I have seen my fair share of dead bodies there buddy, pal ole mine. Don't care to go back to that kind of place, and I would really appreciate you easing up off my back about it.
And your right, where and how I spend my eternity is non of your business.... |

| The difference is if those who think they have a free ticket to heaven because they're saved, vs. the ones who really deserve to be there....which ones would you want to hang out with? |

Nobody, Christian or non-Christian, "deserves" to be there. Only by God's grace and through Jesus Christ will anybody be there. |

I can't say that anyone "deserves" to be in Heaven, but I understand where your coming from with that idea.
Pseudo Christians, or anyone for that matter, that act like they have all the answers and are too cool school are a pain in my arse.
For me it is not a matter what religion or doctrine a person claims to follow, as long as they do so with some understanding of what they claim to be truth in their lives. It the earnestness in which they practice their beliefs that matters to me.
I have a buddy of mine who doesn’t go to church, ain’t about to go to church, and probably will never go to church, but I trust him. I have found him to have more moral integrity than more of the sharks that frequent the local churches in my area.
He is a man who unwittingly follows the ten commandments. Which is Gods law. All that other stuff was given by Moses.
I really don’t feel like I need to wash my hands three times before I eat. But, if that’s what someone else feels he should do, then man go wash them hands.
I digress, yeah I would rather hang out with a “sinner” who is morally upright, even if he doesn’t know it, than hang out with a bunch of self righteous people who think their **it don’t stink.
Again, we have a good example of this. Jesus hung out with the publicans and the sinners. Didn’t he?
May be they were just more fun……. |

Jesus chose those same companions himself.
Those who think they're "better" then others usually aren't who Jesus would
choose to inhabit the heaven everyone talks about.
The humble, meek, kind, and child-like...seem to the the prerequisites.
Those who try to make earth a heavenly place, because they would give you the shirt off their back without a thought or payback, might be better then harps and halos. |

hammerhead1791,
So, you are saying one will ultimately be justified by following the Law?
Again, we have a good example of this. Jesus hung out with the publicans and the sinners. Didn’t he?
Yes He did. As He went on to say, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick."

If memory serves, Jesus broke lots of "Jewish Laws".....healing people on the
Sabbath, eating corn from the fields on the Sabbath, etc. etc.
So, did he lose his shot at "Heaven??" |

That is true qmark but, He didn't say that the others weren't just as sick. The difference was that the publicans and sinners recognized their need for the Doctor. |
